Teens

Teen Leadership Conference
“Each year, SIILK hosts a one-day leadership program designed for African-American girls between the ages of 11-17 from various socioeconomic and geographical backgrounds. This program features interactive workshops focused on encouraging, empowering and support girls in their journey to be strong, smart and independent women. Students will also explore options for traditional and non-traditional careers.

Be a part of the experience as we inspire young girls to become the great leaders of tomorrow!”

SATIIN (Sisters and Teens Involved in Nurturing)

Sisters and Teens Involved in Nurturing focuses on developing life skills and tools needed to ensure a successful transition into womanhood. Our goal is to engage the girls in workshops and activities that will enhance self-image, positive self-esteem, strong communication and etiquette skills.

STEAM Programs

SIILK helps to educate teen girls by showing them the opportunities available in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic fields. By hosting Day at the Movies, Microsoft IT workshops and other events we introduce them to pertinent academic and career path information.

Community

Black History Month

SIILK is involved with numerous community activities in the greater Los Angeles area providing general help, event staffing and other rewarding volunteer positions.

Women’s Programs

We provide assistance by focusing on immediate needs that assist the women in transition by proving life skills to enhance their personal and professional development. We have mentoring sessions that address issues such as self-esteem, dress for success, communication, networking, and job preparation skills.
