To be considered for a SIILK scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Must be a student, residing in the Southern California area or a teen conference participant.
A graduating High School Senior.
Provide a copy of your college acceptance letter and an official copy of your transcripts (transcripts must be scanned or embossed and received in a sealed envelope if mailed).
Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 2.7 or higher.
Provide three (3) signed letters of recommendation from persons who can attest to the quality of your class work, ability, character, and academic proficiency. These letters should be from teachers, guidance counselors, employers, pastor, community organization, or a non-family member.
Write a personal essay describing your career objectives, leadership abilities, community activities, and why you should be considered for this scholarship. (Maximum of 500 words, typed, double spaced, 12-point font).
Must have a minimum of 20 hours of community service or leadership initiative. Picture of yourself (Headshot Only)
Must be available to attend and speak at the annual Teen Leadership Conference.
The following must be completed on or before June 30. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent must complete the application on your behalf (particularly the consent section).
